Honda open deck engines are not designed for forced induction from the factory. Their open deck design helps to keep the engine cylinder walls cool and allow coolant to surround the walls during operation. In forced induction applications, the added boost pressure can cause the open deck walls to expand or warp and crack. The BLOX Block Guard fits right into your short block and allows the coolant to flow through the specially placed coolant passages, but adds strength to the walls to keep them from expanding and cracking.
