Product Description
The BMW E36 is an extremely popular platform for modification. Since it’s so popular, there are many aftermarket parts available, especially when it comes to suspension. Lowering springs and coilovers are amongst the most popular performance products that customers start with when modifying their BMW E36.
For a BMW E36 that’s a daily driver, or where the customer wants to be able to replace both the factory shocks and springs because they might be old and worn or just not offer any handling benefits, we highly recommend these Solo Werks coilovers. We run these coilovers on our own 1997 BMW 318i E36 Sedan and have been incredibly impressed with the fit and finish and quality of these coilovers and how well they ride. They definitely pass the test by offering an upgraded yet firm ride, but not jarring, harsh or bouncy that would make it so you don’t want to drive the car every day.
One nice thing about these E36 Coilovers is that Solo Works offers them pre-damped, meaning the dampening adjustment is already set to what Solo Werks believes is the best balance between handling and comfort. We like this, because it’s a set it and forget it approach and you know you’re already getting what the experts believe is a properly adjusted coilover suspension.
You are able to adjust the height on these E36 coilovers. Solo Werks includes adjustable rings that can be turned using their spanner wrenches so you can lower the car the amount that you prefer, within the adjustment range.
So if you are wanting to lower your E36, we absolutely recommend these coilovers, especially because you should not put lowering springs on cars with old shocks. If you include the cost of lowering springs plus aftermarket shocks, you will find that this set of Solo Werks E36 Coilovers turns out to be the best deal for what is considered a cheap set of coilovers.
Solo Werks is well known for their entry level coilover kits. Offered at a great price with excellent features, Solo Werks coilovers come with two front and two rear dampers with adjustable height progressive springs. The springs are adjustable using black spring perches which have a double lock ring design to ensure they don’t come loose during daily or aggressive driving. Each coilover kit has spring rates and damper adjustments that are set perfectly for each application.
Solo Werks includes progressive elastomer bumpstops, spanner wrenches, 1 bottle of Boeshield lubricant/protectant as well as step by step install instructions.
